Real Protein Bar Information
Those bones and skins get soaked in lime, seared with acid and molded into edible gelatin or collagen. Now they're part of countless protein bars. Mind you, you won't find pig's feet, cattle hide etc. when you check the ingredients. That's because they're hidden behind names like Gelatin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Gelatin. Both collagen and gelatin have a Protein Efficiency Ratio and a Biological Value of 0 or less than 0. That's because they both lack an essential amino acid required to make them a complete protein. So they won't build or fuel your muscles. If the bar says 30 grams of protein and it's made from exclusively gelatin or collagen, you're not getting 30 grams of real, usable protein. Period. Real Protein is real protein. No collagen. No gelatin. Real Protein is 70% pure whey protein, 20% soy protein isolate and 10% milk protein isolate.* With 30 grams of 100% protein to build muscle mass, 28 grams of carbs, 6 grams of fat.* In seven fresh flavors filled with crunchy whey crisps, real fruits and coated with real Belgian chocolate.* No hooves. No hides. No bones. No skins. No weasels. No bull.
I like being able to eat a protein bar with the confidence that my body will absorb the protein and help me grow rather than just causing a lot of gas from low grades of protein, which are found in other bars. I've also never tasted a protein bar this good before.

As a former world class bodybuilder and an owner in the gym business for 22 years I am thrilled to learn that there is finally a protein bar that is collagen/gelatin free! Unfortunately, like many of us I have ingested a fair amount of collagen over the years without fully realizing that I was not getting a usable and complete protein. I can now feel good about suggesting a bar that delivers the protein it claims and the protein necessary for absorption and growth. Real Protein bars are also the best tasting bars I have tried and over time I've tried them all. These bars have become the focus in my gym.

Real Protein bars don't taste like any other protein bars I have ever eaten. They're soft and don't have any aftertaste. I didn't know what collagen was. When I found out I definitely didn't want to eat a bar with that stuff in it. Great taste, great nutritional profile and quality protein. What a great product!
